My wife told me this awhile back and it made good sense so I thought I’d share it.
“John Prine is easy to love if you listen.
He’s simple with his lyrics but at the same time they pack a punch to the gut. How can you feel happy and sad at the same time by one of his songs? I think nostalgia is where John Prine lives.”
